About Vinegar Hill Neighborhood Association
Purpose
- To improve the quality of life of residents and preserve property value
Goals
- To improve the economic integrity of our neighborhoods by encouraging and facilitating improvement of properties;
- To protect the health and welfare of residents;
- To promote social interaction among neighbors;
- To encourage and facilitate participation in local government; and
- To foster pride in our homes and neighborhoods.
Association Area
The VHNA association area includes from the south side of Jefferson Street to the north side of South Grand Avenue and from the east side of Walnut Street up to but not including Second Street. You DO NOT need to be a resident or property owner in the VHNA area to join.
Meetings
VHNA meetings are held at 7 pm, the second Monday of each month in room 201 at Laurel United Methodist Church on the corner of South Grand Avenue and Walnut Street. Monthly guests speak on topics of interest to residents and property owners in the area. The public is welcome.
Membership
Membership is open to any person who understands and supports the purpose of the Association. Dues are currently $10 per year, payable on January 1.
Please pay in person at a meeting, or send a check or money order payable to VHNA, P.O. Box 1026, Springfield, IL 62705. When you pay, provide your name, address, phone number and email address, and indicate if you wish to be listed in our directory, which is distributed only to members.

Newsletter
“View From the Hill” is the official monthly newsletter of VHNA. Distribution is made to all current dues-paying members in good standing and to select public officials. Click here for Newsletters.
